what really changes
Many standard riser recliners use two independent motors and offer predefined dimensions and movements. Sollevita integrates from 5 to 8 independent motors, according to the weight capacity, within a single design that allows the chair’s different functions to be controlled separately. The difference, however, does not lie only in the number of motors: you can recognise it in the ergonomics, the seat construction, the personalisation, the quality of the finishes and the support over time.
The comparison takes a basic riser recliner configuration as its reference. Equipment and performance vary between models: they should be compared using their respective technical data sheets.

Independent, removable elements

Sollevita lets you move from one position to another through independent adjustments. Relax, 180° lie-flat, tilt-in-space and Zero Gravity are not variants of the same movement, but different configurations designed to support different moments and needs throughout the day.
Relax position
The backrest, footrest and Push Head powered headrest can be adjusted separately to find the most comfortable position for reading, watching TV, talking or resting.
Tilt-in-space
Seat and backrest tilt together, changing the orientation of the whole body without turning the movement into a simple recline.
Zero Gravity
This position supports circulation in the lower limbs, offers a cardiovascular benefit linked to raising the legs and increases the feeling of lightness and comfort.
Vertical height adjustment
Vertical height adjustment makes the bed-to-chair transfer easier and brings the person to a more comfortable height for massage, beard and hair care, dressing and other care activities.
180° lie-flat position
Turns Sollevita into a fully extended surface for resting, short naps, sleeping in the chair when appropriate and massage where compatible.
Return to sitting

Understanding the differences, beyond the list of features
The checklist helps you gather the information. Here we look at how to interpret it: from the meaning of the movements to the construction of the seat, through to the value of support over time.
Why do independent movements matter, beyond the number of motors?
Because they allow the main adjustments to be adapted to the person’s needs. Sollevita starts from a minimum of five motors and goes up to eight only according to the weight capacity, keeping all the functions. In the high-capacity configuration, for example, two motors work together on the rise function: the number of motors therefore does not correspond to the number of functions. In a comparison, what matters is seeing which movements are independent and how they combine, not just the maximum number of motors stated.
What distinguishes vertical height adjustment from the rise function?
Vertical height adjustment raises or lowers the whole chair while the person stays seated or lying down; the rise function, instead, tilts and raises the seat to help the person to their feet. Sollevita integrates both. The former lets you adjust the height in relation to the bed and bring the person closer to whoever is providing care; together with the flat surface and the removable side panel, it helps prepare certain transfers. To compare two products, you therefore need to check the actual movement, not just the word “lift”.
Why is tilt-in-space not the same as simply reclining the backrest?
Recline changes the angle of the backrest relative to the seat. Tilt-in-space, instead, tilts the two parts together while keeping the opening angle already chosen, offering further relax and rest positions. To understand the difference, ask for a video demonstration of the two movements, performed separately and shown from start to finish. You will be able to see what changes during each adjustment and which combinations make it possible to keep comfortable support for the person.
Why might a very soft seat not be the most suitable one?
Because softness and support describe different things. Stability of support, proportions and how easy it is to get ready to stand up also matter when choosing. Sollevita uses three layers: a sprung seat base, an individually pocketed springs cushion and a comfort top layer. This construction should be assessed together with the backrest and the adjustments. Simply preferring a material in the abstract is not enough: you need to understand how the whole seat behaves with the person.
What is the difference between removable covers and fully removable outer and underlying covers?
Removable covers means that some of the covers can be taken off, but you need to check which ones. In Sollevita, both the outer and the underlying covers are fully removable. This construction makes cleaning, washing and replacement easier, together with anti-fray stitching designed to withstand these repeated operations. In a comparison, what matters is therefore seeing which parts are accessible and how they are removed. Care instructions remain those of the chosen material, because fabric and faux leather are not necessarily treated in the same way.
Do two chairs with the same width offer the same support?
No. First you need to understand whether the figure refers to the usable seat width or to the overall external dimensions; then compare depth, backrest, footrest and armrest position. An identical width can go with very different support. Sollevita offers 52 or 63 cm seats and three depths, with the Push Head powered headrest and footrest extension. The difference that counts is the one that lets the person make good use of the whole configuration.
